Hi-Fly H 01: Dizzy Gillespie '46 Live At The Spotlite
There are some doubts about the staff. Some sources claim that Kenny Dorham is also on trumpet, that instead of Gordon Thomas there is Charles Greenlee on trombone and that instead of John Brown there is Sonny Stitt on alto sax.
On the album “Dizzy Gillespie '46 Live At The Spotlite” the last track appears as “Unknow title”, but it is actually the song “Grosvenor Square”, which appears correctly titled on the album “Dizzy Gillespie Big Band - Showtime At The Spotlite, 52nd Street, New York City, June 1946 ".

Little is known of this recording. Charlie Rouse stated that maybe the tenor Sax was Lucky Thompson and that the trumpeter was Kenny Dorham, although there is a possibility that it was Ray Copeland.
In the CD notes it says that the Sax tenor was Lucky Thompson, the double Bass Curly Russell and the drummer Art Blakey.
Some source claims that Sax tenor was Charlie Rouse !!
It seems that it really is not known exactly who were the musicians who accompanied Monk.
The CD dates the recording to June 1950

Gambit 69241: Thelonious Monk With John Coltrane - Complete Live At The Five Spot (CD)
The songs "Ruby My Dear" and "Nutty" are believed to have been recorded in late July / early August, 1957 at the Five Spot Cafe, New York with the following lineup: Thelonious Monk Quartet: Thelonious Monk: Piano, John Coltrane: Tenor Sax, Wilbur Ware: Double Bass and Shadow Wilson: Drums.
Until recently it was thought that the recording of these two songs was in the possession of the Monk family and was unreleased, but everything seems to indicate that the recording of these two songs that appears on the CD (Gambit 69241) would be that recording.

In this format, the songs “Passport” and “Visa” also appear, but these songs do not belong to this session and in both songs there is no Monk (Charlie Parker is there with other musicians different from those of this session). This same edition was reissued in 2019 in 12” format (Verve 000602577271823).
In 1954 Bird And Diz was released in 12” format (Verve MGV-8006). This edition collected the themes that appeared in the 10 "edition (minus" Passport"and "Visa") and some alternative takes were added.
In 1997 a CD edition appeared that included all the songs that were included in the 10”and 12” formats and more alternative takes were added (Verve 521 436-2).
In 2016 Charlie Parker - Unheard Bird: The Unissued Takes (Verve 00602547846587) was released on CD, which, among other songs from other sessions, included previously unreleased alternative takes of this session.
There is a take of My Melancholy Baby (coda rehearsal) which is a 5 second rehearsal in which only Charlie Parker plays, it appears in: Bird (The Complete Charlie Parker On Verve) (10xCD) (Verve Records 837 141-2) . Monk is not playing in this take.

Xanadu 202: Thelonious Monk - Live At The Village Gate
Don Schlitten, who released this concert on his Xanadu label, dated it to November 12, 1963. It seems difficult since Monk was playing at the Five Spot at that time with different personnel. Chris Sheridan said the correct date was November 12, 1962 (Brilliant Corners, 118), but this also seems unlikely as Monk's contract at the Village Gate ended the first week of September. On the weekend of November 11-12 Larry Adler, Paul Draper and Nina Simone were playing at the Village. (New York Times, November 9 and 12, 1962).
